Poor Sick Vera

Vera started her fever on Friday 18 March 2011.

During the weekends, her fever came on and off and there was no worsening of the situation.

Took leave for two days to take care of her and today she sticks to me like a super glue. Maybe she is seeking some form of comfort that only a mother can provide (how amazing motherhood can be!)

She was very weak the whole day and woke up at 8am. Refusing to sleep, probably due to her phlegm discomfort. Until around 2pm, finally coaxed her to sleep on my bed (she is used to "yaolan").

However at 2.45pm, she coughed and vomit. This startled her and she woke up crying non-stop. While the mess hasn't been cleared up, she vomit again.

Blessing in disguise - She is more active after the two vomit incident. And when I brought her down for a walk, she vomit at the void deck (ooopsie!)

Pray that she will recover soon, my poor little baby. She has lost weight and her face has sharpen (not good for a baby huh!)

My first Competition

Today Vera went to Baby Fair at Expo and she joined the telematch for toddlers (12-18 months).
They are supposed to carry a beach ball from point A to B, do stacking of rings at B and then carry beach ball back to A.

Vera successfully completed carrying beach ball from A to B, struggled a bit trying to put the stacking rings. And did not complete the last part carrying the ball back to A. She was too busy playing the stacking rings (why didn't she bother to play the exact same toy at home?)

However, we still had a consolation prize - a pack of Huggies Wipes!

Along the way, there was a AIA booth and she was given a "thinking cap". Surprisingly, she allowed the cap to be on her head for more than 10 minutes!

Loving the cap

......my thinking cap.....
Took a video of her telematch. However, the blur Daddy forgets to record the middle part where (30 seconds maybe) she is supposed to be stacking the rings because he was busy asking Vera to stack the rings.

Vera and the cat

Vera visits the loitering cat while having a stroll at the void deck. She squat down and observed the cat and kept pointing at it. When I said "cat" she imitates with a blabber "cak".

"Hi Daddy, the cat is FAT!"
She is laughing at the FAT cat

Speckie Vera!

The little botak head with a pair of green specs!

Your very first toothbrush!

You finally have your first toothbrush!(not counting the baby rubber thingy that we put our finger in and brush your gums). And we found a toothbrush holder to put between Daddy's and Mummy's :)

Hooded Jacket

Because we have not been letting you gotten used to wearing a hat or headband on your "botak" head, you actually hate to put anything on your head! The last time you had anything on your head was probably when you were 8 months old (gotta check back the blog for the last time).

However, you allow us to put the hood over your head this time round! And we had to repeat that you were "mei mei" and that makes you keep touching your head to make sure the hood was still on.

You even like to walk with a handbag in your arms now! Like a "tai-tai" in the making!

A random day of growing up

Today is a day full of activities! Since we have some time after praying, Daddy n Mummy decided to borrow some books. Hence to the National Library! Then we went for our weekly lesson and then off to Changi Airport to meet Lucas and family!

Video of Vera loitering at the void deck while waiting for daddy's car:

There was one instant when you a truck passed by and you were frightened by the loud engine noise, and you walked very fast! It was captured in the video and I thought it looked quite "cartoon".

In the library, you were busy running around and chasing another 18 month old boy! NLB is a good place for you to roam about while Daddy and mummy can read some books. Decided to read to you before bedtime so as to cultivate a good reading habit! :)

Pointing at some notice in the library

Look at the number of golf club sets! Think there is a tournament coming up. You were really curious and keep walking up towards it, while Daddy has to chase after u!
So many golf clubs

You were roaming around airport and even snatched a 14 month old boy's balloon!! So spoilt! And you cried when we wanted to return him. You hugged the balloon and attempted to run away!
Making sure that nobody is chasing you

Diaper change

For the past few months since you learnt to flip over at 4 months old, every diaper changing time turns into a struggle for us! We have to pull you down and try to divert your attention with any toys or with the diapers. Often, I will end up having a backache and being very irritated. I dread changing diapers because it is very difficult to pin you down and wipe that poop out of your butt, sometimes ended up in a GREAT MESS!

But oh butt... now I realise that you no longer struggle when we change your diapers! You will lie down and look at me patiently while we wipe your little butt clean and shine.

What happened along the way? Is it because you realise that poop on your butt is uncomfortable? All the while, you never really alert us when you have poop! You can even sleep in your own poop. So I conclude that you are a VERY DIRTY LITTLE GIRL.

Nevertheless, still love you :) Hope you remain like this for the rest of the diaper changing days.
