Vera's fourth month checkup

Picture of her awaiting to go to polyclinic.

Today Vera went for her checkup. Weighing only 5.75kg she is only at 25 percentile. Hmm so she needs more more milk!

When the jab went in she was silent for 5 sec and we thought she is so brave. Then she starts wailing very loudly! Aww my baby vera has such thin skin :)

Vera's First Flip

Vera has finally flip today!!

But Mummy missed it because I was bathing. And coincidentally Daddy stepped into the house and saw it!

Hahaha after that single flip Vera did not try again because I guess she was tire after trying so many times throughout the day!

Awaiting for more surprises from Baby Vera!

Breastfeeding Quotes

Found these quotes and found it meaningful and very encouraging because breastfeeding is not a easy task to achieve and to maintain.

Ten Amazing Breastfeeding Quotes!

breastfeed21 Ten Amazing Breastfeeding Quotes!
Here are ten amazing breastfeeding quotes:

1) A newborn baby has only three demands. They are warmth in the arms of its mother, food from her breasts, and security in the knowledge of her presence. Breastfeeding satisfies all three. – Grantly Dick-Read

2) While breastfeeding may not seem the right choice for every parent, it is the best choice for every baby. – Amy Spangler

3) All I ever heard was everyone bitch about it, nobody ever said, ‘You are not going to believe how emotional this is. – Jennifer Garner

4) I love that I’m someone special and that I feed him. I’m the milk cow! My theory is that nursing gives you superhuman powers. How else could I be doing all this when I’m usually a sleepaholic? – Gwen Stefani (This is so me! I am a sleepaholic!)

5) There are three reasons for breast-feeding: the milk is always at the right temperature; it comes in attractive containers; and the cat can’t get it. -Irena Chalmers

6) If a multinational company developed a product that was a nutritionally balanced and delicious food, a wonder drug that both prevented and treated disease, cost almost nothing to produce and could be delivered in quantities controlled by the consumers’ needs, the very announcement of their find would send their shares rocketing to the top of the stock market. The scientists who developed the product would win prizes and the wealth and influence of everyone involved would increase dramatically. Women have been producing such a miraculous substance, breastmilk, since the beginning of human existence. -Gabrielle Palmer (This is a nice one on describing breastmilk)

7) It is only in the act of nursing that a woman realizes her motherhood in visible and tangible fashion; it is a joy of every moment. -Honore de Balzac

8.) People need to understand that when they’re deciding between breastmilk and formula, they’re not deciding between Coke and Pepsi…. They’re choosing between a live, pure substance and a dead substance made with the cheapest oils available. -Chele Marmet

9) Breastfeeding is an instinctual and natural act, but it is also an art that is learned day by day. The reality is that almost all women can breastfeed, have enough milk for their babies and learn how to overcome problems both large and small. It is almost always simply a matter of practical knowledge and not a question of good luck. – La Leche League (So true. There are alot of problems for breastfeeding mums. And only these mums understand!)

10) People say, ’You’re still breast-feeding, that’s so generous.’ Generous, no! It gives me boobs and it takes my thighs away! It’s sort of like natural liposuction. I’d carry on breast-feeding for the rest of my life if I could. – Helena Bonham Carter (Yep.. Bring my fats away! )

1st day of work

Today is first day of work after 3 long months of maternity leave.

But guess what? I am down with fever. Whole body aching and feel very cold. Did not sleep the whole night. In the end have to take mc. Really no strength. Even felt giddy at the clinic :(

But i am glad it's me down and not Baby Vera or else i will be very heartache.

End of Maternity Leave

Tomorrow I will be starting work after 3 long months of maternity leave. Left with 11 more days of maternity leave so that I can bring Baby Vera to polyclinic for her checkup due.

I will miss Vera! Will she miss me? I hope she will not give too much trouble to her granny so that I can concentrate on my work.

So many things to bring to work cos I have to pump at work. Gotta bring my pump and big cooler bag to and fro office and home, it is quite heavy!

Breastmilk is the best food for babies! I am quite surprised I can "tahan" until now. I am so proud that Baby Vera is on total breastfeed for 3 mths and going! I wonder if my supply will drop once I go work?

Vera, mummy will miss you!

Dinner at Marina JustAcia

Today Vera had dinner with her parents at Marina JustAcia. The food is quite cheap with free flow of drinks and ice-cream. :)

But bringing Vera out is not very pleasurable for this weekend. She has been quite cranky. She demands the stroller to be on the move and if we stop, she has to be out of the stroller sitting on our lap.

Family Photo on the bed

Decides to take a random self-take family photo on the bed. Daddy and Mummy still in our pyjamas and unwashed face lolz. Only Baby Vera is in a beautiful pink rompers. (I simply love this photo!)

Swimming #2

Contented Swimmer

Today Baby Vera went for her second session of swimming. We went with Lorraine and family (Baby Lucas). She swam a long half an hour. Babies can't swim too long for first time because their muscles are not used to it. So as a second time swimmer, she can take the half an hour torturous training!

Vera chuckled and laughed very loudly to Lorraine and the staff. Daddy and I were shocked at how loudly she can laugh! Wonder why she never laugh to us before.. Hmmmm...

Managed to catch her swimming in action:

More to go because still have 8 more sessions (assume I do not continue the package)

Just keep swimming, just keep swimming....

Vera waking in middle of night

Vera woke up at 130am and 5am. Here i am blogging about it at 6am. Naughty little Vera!

Today Vera tried very hard to flip. Making alot of grumpy sounds. She really put in a lot of effort! Jia you darling. I am hoping to see this milestone!

But I will be starting work soon, wonder if I will miss her flipping for the first time?

Snapshot of the weird position Vera is in trying to flip.
